Caves of South Dakota
Discovered accidently by miners in 1876, Beautiful Rushmore Cave quickly became one of the most visited cave in the Black Hills as it opened it's door to the public in 1927, just before the sculpturing of Mt. Rushmore. Slowly, each rooms were discovered, some by kids just looking for a place to play.

"To explore is to seek adventure, to be curious is to be a child once again."

In 1987, I explored Spring Valley Cave in northern Minnesota. Being the first cave that I was about to experience, I was a bit scared, but at the same time very curious.

I was one of three people who crawled into the smallest hole just to see tree roots. I remember squeezing my way through as we came to a tiny room that barely fit the three of us. At the age of ten, I wasn't sure what I was doing there, but now I know that it was all worth the experiences.

When I finally got out of there, I was happy to see sunshine, and breath fresh air once again.
